History of the Nortel Corporation:
Nortel Network Corporation has its history dating back to the beginning of Bell Telephone Company of Canada.

In 1895 the manufacturing sector was spun off of Bell Canada. In 1998 with an acquisition of Bay networks, the Nortel Network was born.
