New Energy Found for My Workouts

July 27th, 2009

I’m always looking for ways to maximize my workout. I’ve discovered what works for me time wise isn’t the most efficient body-wise. A mid afternoon workout is my best scheduled time but it is in the morning that my body co-operates the best.

I’ve analyzed my routine and found that short bursts of aerobic exercise between weights gives me maximum benefits as well as breaking up the “sameness” of it all.

The biggest obstacle that I have been working on is keeping my energy level up throughout the entire workout. After all, what is a workout if it’s not working out?

I’ve always had a healthy and hearty breakfast and followed fitness advice to drink plenty of fluids (16 – 20 oz) a couple of hours before my workout. However, I found that 30 minutes into the workout my energy level went way down. It wasn’t just tiredness either.

I even experimented with a little snack of fruit about 30 minutes before to keep my blood sugar levels up. This helped a little.

What has really made the difference is drinking a juice made from a green fruit called TAHITIAN NONI® Juice. I’ve read that marathon runners, surfing champions and professional athletes drink it for energy and for after competition recovery. There must be something to it.

I discovered it really does work! I followed the directions on the bottle, drinking 1 oz of TAHITIAN NONI® Juice first thing in the morning. But I found that if I drink another 1 oz about an hour before my workout it made a significant difference. If I workout every day of the week I will drink 2 oz in the morning on the heavier workout day and then 1 oz the next day (my lighter workout day). The 2 oz does give me a quicker recovery time. My muscles aren’t as sore and I don’t feel as spent.

All in all, I’m satisfied. Discovering the right time to workout (when possible), the best workout routine for me, the right type and amount of food to eat and drinking TAHITIAN NONI® Juice for energy and recovery has pushed me forward in results. I’m starting to reach the goals I once only dreamed about.

The Island of Zitny Ostrov - Slovakia

July 27th, 2009

Ranging from Bratislava to Korman in southwestern Slovakia, Zitny Ostrov (Rye Island) is Europe’s biggest river island. It is so large that most visitors are unaware of being on an island. It lies between the Danube, and its slower flowing off-shoot the Little Danube, in the Danubian Plain.

Several rivers flow across it and the rich alluvial deposits make it the most fertile land in Slovakia. The island also contains central Europe’s largest reservoir of pristine potable water and it has the warmest and least humid climate in Slovakia.

A beautiful area of marshes, natural and man-made lakes and rich agricultural land, the south has been designated a Protected Landscape. The serene waters of the Little Danube provide excellent boating through the alluvial forests. While on the water, the controversial hydroelectric dam at Gabcikovo may also be visited.

Zitny Ostrov has two main towns, both of which have strong Hungarian influences. DunajskA Streda has a majority Hungarian population, though the only reminder of a significant Jewish minority is a 1991 memorial. There is also evidence of Bronze Age settlement here.

In the late 1990s the town centre was rebuilt with unique white buildings capped by towers and elaborate tiled roofs. A large thermal park offers year-round bathing in geothermal heated water.

Komarno, Slovakia’s principal port, lies on the Hungarian border — a bridge leads into Hungarian Komarom, which used to be part of Komarno. Here two thirds of the population speak Hungarian and the street signs are in two languages.

Europe Place is a large shopping and tourist centre built in a variety of European architectural forms. A native son of Komamo, Franz Lehar, is honoured with a biennial music festival, whilst the annual Komarno Days Festival celebrates Slovak and Hungarian culture.

A New Model for Collectible Card Games

July 27th, 2009

We like to play kids games with our children. It can be a bit painful to move those plastic men around the board, but its great being with the kids. Kids games can be a good time and it’s not rotting anybody’s brain. Unlike computer games there is also a strong social aspect to sitting down with family and playing a fun game.

One popular kids game is the collectible card game. Where the play and collectability of a collectible card game centers on the characters and a full deck and everyone has access to the same tools they can test their ability rather than their wallet. Most parents don’t have hundreds of trading cards to select from and even if they did probably wouldn’t know which ones to use.

There are a lot of other options when looking for games for kids. There are the usual board games that we have all played from the time we were little. There are also adventure games, word games, and for the bigger kids - war games. Trading cards have become a popular hobby for kids young and not so young.

However, some of the most popular games that involve trading cards can be very hard to learn. One of the downsides of a trading card game designed this way is that kids can spend themselves into an unfair advantage - affecting game balance and putting new players at a disadvantage; for parents, buying hundreds of bad cards to get a few good ones could be a real problem.

It doesn’t have to be this way. A trading card game can be just as exciting when everyone has access to all the cards. What’s more, the waste of paper and money is sharply reduced if a collectible card game is based on full access to cards.
